Okay, I'm called by the school today at work. My daughter is complaining of difficulty breathing. Is she struggling? No. Is she wheezing? No. How does she look? Oh, maybe a little pale. She says she had a headache earlier. Did she run alot at recess? She said she was active but that she didn't feel better after coming in. I called you because your daughter never complains so I was concerned.

So.....
I leave work and go to the school. She is FINE! She is taking her math test in the office. I'm ready to strangle the daughter and the school. Here is the scoop. She is very athletic. I asked if she played hard. Yeah. I asked if she had been drinking her water. Well, after..... Note to self: explain the dangers of dehydration to daughter. Will also take her emotional tempeture -- it isn't that I don't understand wanting attention, there are just more appropriate ways to get it. I'm so aggravated.

I told my daughter to go back to class since she felt fine. I wrote a note to the office lady while we were standing there letting her know Super Girl recently lost her grandma and that this could be depression (or attention getting behavior more likely). She was wide eyed when I told her my daugher would be going back to class and that I'd be going back to work.

Sure wish I could spend days off on VACATION vs. sick days!!!
