The weekend was good. Saturday we had Super Girl's soccer game, then the Melanoma March, then Wonder Boy's soccer game. Hubby went golfing, the kids stayed over at my inlaws and we had a late dinner out. Sunday I shopped for flowers with my Dad, bought a new TV and scheduled delivery (tube going on our 11 year old TV), hit Costco (great strawberries), made it to church on time (!), and saw a really good speaker (Mathew Kelly).

Yesterday was my parent's 40th anniversary so I made several quick visits to the cemetery throughout the weekend. I bought yellow roses for myself at Costco (my Dad always got my Mom yellow roses for their anniversary). Seeing them in my vases (I split the bunch, there were 2 dozen) is bittersweet.

This week should be challenging -- we have 3 weeknight soccer games plus practices! I'm looking forward to having next weekend off from games. Maybe we'll even get to plant! I know I'll be planting at my Dad's, but hopefully I'll get some done at my house too!

Seeing Linda at the Melanoma March broke my heart and filled it too. She is so ill -- it reminded me so much of my Mom with her brain tumors. At least Linda was able to attend and she seemed really happy with the turnout (I heard 900?). I remember her so full of life when we were in high school. I'm so glad her faith has helped her through this. What a blessing it is to have faith to lean on during difficult (impossible times).

It was nice to see all of the old friends. I'm happy to catch up and hope not to lose touch with so many great people again. I wish the reason we got together again was a happier one.

Update -- Over $100,000 was raised the event. 3 weeks later Linda passed. Her legacy is her children. She will not be forgotten.
