Itch, itch, scratch, scratch. My daughter has been spotting with a rash for a good week now. I have been popping up with an amazing amount of mosquito bites. Yesterday she woke and had a rash you would not believe. Itch, itch, scratch, scratch. I got her into the doctor yesterday afternoon. Funny as it sounds, I was SO relieved it was poison ivy (or the like). I had feared ticks, fleas, and scabies!!!! Itch, itch, scratch, scratch.

I kept checking the dogs and they had no flea or tick issues so I really thought it was scabies. I was so happy there were no BUGS involved in this rash!! Itch, itch, scratch, scratch. For some reason I don't even realize I'm scratching until I'm bleeding. The doctor looked at me and asked to check me out too -- I'm in the poison ivy club too -- just not the insane level of my daughter. Mine is annoying, but mild by comparison.

Now we have to remember to do the antibiotic for her twice daily (the rash was quick and bad, there may be infection hence the antibiotic). We also are on a steroid cream. The pharmacist told us to do calamine lotion on top of the steroid cream to reduce the itching -- bless her heart for this helpful hint!! Itch, itch, scratch, scratch.
