The weekend was spent shopping and doing our family cookie baking marathon. My husband and both kids got into to cookie baking act and fun was had by all. My daughter cracked up when I decided we all had to have war paint on if we were serious bakers -- so I put flour on everyone's cheeks and we had at it. We made 3 batches of Russian tea cookies and 3 batches (or 4?) of thumbprint jelly cookies. We had already done 3 batches of kiss cookies. Now I just need to make the aggression cookies -- they don't look like much but are the best of the bunch. We borrowed my mother inlaw's KitchenAid mixer and WOW what a difference. I am so glad I put this on my list for Christmas! My husband picked it up for my Dad to get me and I can't wait to bake!

So anyway, Saturday we shopped till we dropped and I wrapped like a maniac after baking. I wanted to be really petty and get my sister inlaws something useless and dust collecting.... but my wonderful husband talked me out of it since he has to give them their gifts without me while I'm at my Dad's helping put on the Christmas Eve party he always put on with my Mom. My inlaws will likely hold that against me too but I'm over it. I will be happy to be with people who love and appreciate me a little vs. people who are just glad I produced grandchildren.

I am still in the midst of studying for my final -- which is not until tomorrow. Cruel world. I am hoping to kick some ass. If I get an A I'll get an A in the class. No pressure. I hate being on the cusp!!!

I still need to finish shopping, wrapping, baking, decorating.... Our tree looks like shit. This is my first Christmas since my Mom passed away and it is really hard to get in the spirit. I'm good with the baking part, but the rest of it isn't calling me. Okay, I like to wrap too but don't let word hit the streets. It is a little freakish to enjoy wrapping, isn't it? Not that my wrapping LOOKS the best.....

I took my daughter and went to a Fantastic Sam's type place for haircuts last night. Her hair looks awesome and she will shine in her music program tonight at school. My hair.... is interesting....
