Jessica never regained consciousness last night after her car was broad sided by a car going 60 miles per hour. Her lung was punctured and she had massive head injuries. Our parish priest was able to get to the hospital in time to administer the blessing of the sick. This has to have been a great comfort to the family -- I know it would have been to me. I'm told she passed away shortly after the blessing.

I know that sometimes we can not fathom the reasons things like this happen. My Mom used to say that she had a list of questions she was going to ask God when she finally got to see him. I'm sure she is chatting with him now. Jessica was a great girl -- she comforted me when my Mom was sick and visited my Mom between her shifts at the hospital.

Heaven has a new angel today. May her family find peace.
