My kids amaze me. Last Sunday my son decided to have a circus. He made signs to promote it and posted them ALL over the house. Signs were on my pillow, on hubby's pillow, 3 signs on the wall of the stairway, signs in the living room, signs in the dining room, signs on the washing machine. Sing it now "Signs, signs, everywhere signs!" Apparently, Wonder Boy is a natural marketing genius. He put his company name (Yo Inc!) on everything. The boy has apparently mastered Branding 101. He created souvenirs, programs, and a newspaper which promoted the event. He got his sister to be his assistant. He explained to me that by charging tax for the items sold he could afford to pay her without sacrificing profit.
He made us buy tickets for the event (making the tickets himself and not accepting an IOU when I was short of cash. He is 9. My daughter wanted a bigger piece of the take, but agreed that since she did NONE of the work she could settle for a smaller percentage than 50%. Am I living with sharks or what? They didn't learn this from me or hubby!!!
So, the circus was last night. I videotaped it with interviews before and after. I need to learn how to video tape so that my voice isn't so loud! I cringe when I watch the tape since I'm holding the camera I'm closest to the microphone and am LOUD. The kids have soft and sweet voices on the tape, I boom. I enjoy filming and they enjoy hamming it up. I do want a remote microphone though -- hearing myself laugh when I watch the tapes makes me gag. After the circus they were supposed to go to bed. Did Wonder Boy really go to bed? NO. He started making new posters.
Coming this Wednesday, to my very own livingroom, "The WILD Show." I can not even begin to imagine. Will the teddy bear juggling be a key act in The WILD Show? I can't wait to find out!

THAT IS WHY HAVING KIDS IS AWESOME!!!!! They bring the circus to our houses everyday, and we love it.
What an amazing effort, and such a cool thing that you encouraged it by interviewing them and videotaping it. Very creative.
