This Old House

My best friend is living through the renovation from hell. She mortgaged her ass to the hilt and bought the money pit. She has been living with her mom during renovation -- it has to be five or six months now (we have all lost track). My friend (Wonder Woman) has 4 boys (7, 5, 3, and 19 months). She bought a farm house built in 1901. It is my belief that there has been little or no work done on the house in the last 100 years.

Today I stopped by to take photos. They are too tired and too beaten down to document their progress. When it is over they will want to have pictures to prove to people what it was REALLY like. Nobody will believe it. I've watched the progression of this "money pit" and I can honestly say I almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. If they continue to work their asses off for the next 3 weeks they MIGHT just be able to move in.

So today I took the progress tour and when we walked out back I had to laugh. How funny to see the shop vac and the popper together. This picture might just have to be framed and given to Wonder Woman at a later date. I think it sums up this stage of her life beautifully.
