The sticker accessories cracked us up -- Wonder Boy was particular on placement. That butterfly was GORGEOUS.
Why can I post from work and not from home? Does Blogger hate my home PC??? I get an error every time at home... UGH!

No school is complete without a playground -- note the Katydid hopping on hopscotch, lightening bugs playing 4 square and the Cidcada is a digger because "Every playground HAS to have a digger!"

The desk name tags identified each bug name. Wonder Boy typed them himself.
And that, my friends, is the bug project. I took pictures while the glue was still wet (hence the white blobs under each bug). The glue dries clear, but I was long gone the next morning so we had to get pics while the glue was still wet. Hopefully it makes it home in one piece so I can take better pictures.
I saw Wonder Boy at lunch today while I was dropping off allergy medicine for Super Girl. He was happy because all the kids crowded around his desk when they visited each other's classrooms to see the bug projects. "Mom! They all crowded around MY DESK!" He is basking in the glory of peer recognition and feels less sad about his not following directions. I reminded him he should apologize to the teacher for not following directions.
Letting the kids handle these things is so much harder than swooping in to rescue. I have not called his teacher. I am proud of me for holding back... "This too shall pass."
How the heck did my Mom survive raising me??

I remember doing a bug project - I think in 10th grade??? maybe earlier. We used a jar of stinky stuff ot kill them and then had to mount them before they curled up.
His looks like he did an excellent job.
already thinking outside the box, making his own rules and getting glory. he hee.
oh, man. the bug project. how gross, yet cool. i remember that one.

I love his bug project!! What a creative idea!!
He's got loads of creativity! I hope the teacher doesn't bug him.
That was brilliant...
I showed it to my daughter. She was rivetted.
I loved it and so did she...
Way-to-go wonder boy!! Nice job.
Yes, Yes. about the rules. but wonder boy will not always be a student. once in the world of work, taking chances like this can get you a promotion and a huge pat on the back. or it may get you fired. either way. I totally love those people who think it over and think it worth the risk to follow their vision.
btw, nice vision! I love idea.
