Food Poisoning?

I'm not sure if it was food poisoning or the flu. Oh boy was yesterday fun! I was just well enough to go to work, but just sick enough to be miserable and get nothing done. My intestines might finally be cleared out too. What a bonus! And all of this on the day that I started MY BIG FAT DIET.

I decided to go on a BIG FAT DIET for a number of reasons. I want to feel good again. Lowering my weight reduces my pain and give me more energy. I want to find my self esteem -- I hate myself when I'm this overweight. I want to be healthy. Reducing weight reduces cancer and heart risks -- both issues in this family, so I need to take heed! I want to fit into my clothing and not look like a short Maude (younger with better hair). I'm sorry Bea Arthur, but you and I both know that draping shit you wore for clothing didn't fool anyone. Me wearing longer jackets doesn't hide my extra baggage. I want to look decent when I'm a THIRTY NINE year old bridesmaid at my sister inlaw's wedding next fall. I also want to look decent when I'm student teaching -- who wants to hire an overweight chick? It leaves the wrong impression. I am NOT lazy. I want to be able to run on the sidelines and at soccer practice when Hubby and I coach the teams. I want to live to see grandchildren someday!

So, I've started my BIG FAT DIET. Hubby and I decided to start before Christmas so that we would not gain even more that we would then have to work to lose. So, yesterday I weighed in and had my first conference call. I was perfect on the diet for the whole darn day -- my farewell to food tour paid off! I had no crazy cravings to drive me nuts. I'm a firm believer that you should say goodbye to your favorite foods and beverages for a month before starting a healthier lifestyle. I will visit these foods someday when I'm at goal weight, but it will take less of them to satisfy me. I know I can do this -- I was doing this diet before I lost my Mom and was losing weight and feeling good. So, I'm back on track and done with grief eating. You can only tour the comfort foods for so long!

Wish me luck! I've already made the biggest adjustment -- no cream in the coffee! If I can do that, I can do anything! Next I'll try to get back into exercise. My New Year's resolutions are all about health and I'm starting early. I will make good healthy choices in 2007! Now if my body can just get used to drinking all this damn water.... How many times a day can a chick pee?

I am sorry you are sick, hope you feel better soon.

With the diet, wow, that is great. I am totally obsessed with swiss miss diet hot chocolate. 25 cals and creamy. mmmmmmmm..

re: food poisoning?

no, you know me and my ideas. I really think it could be chemical withdrawal from your own production of adrenaline and other chemicals. if you slow down (even a little bit), the chemicals your body was then addicted to are no longer there and you have withdrawal. I've heard/read/& personally experienced a whole variety of withdrawal symptoms: but the bottom line is you feel sick. AND YOU DON'T DESERVE THAT!! or me rambling on and on. Aren't you glad I can post comments again??!! take care and enjoy the wonderful hubbie that is now your co-dieter!! how super cool.
