Suck It Up Sunday!

Today was really a Suck It Up Sunday. Wonder Boy's soccer team had an early game so we all sucked it up and got up really early. The game was quite physical -- indoor soccer can have it's brutal days. Today we had several injuries. Boy, can those boys suck it up! "Put me back in coach, I'll be fine." Um, sure.... just let me clean that blood off your lips first. (I know, ew!)

The Super Girl's team has been dominating their division -- until today. What a competitive game! The kicker was that we had 2 girls in tears and neither got hurt. One was our goalie who was in tears because she was scored on. I had to explain -- the team got scored on, you didn't. You can't play the other team by yourself and you are not alone when WE get scored on. Interesting how the boys don't cry over pain, but the girls cry over drama type stuff (my 2nd crying was upset about subbing!).

This team has seen little adversity.... perhaps some losing would help. Hate to say it, but maybe we need some character building? Wonder Boy thinks so -- he whispered it in my ear on the bench. I believe Wonder Boy has an older soul than me...

Now I have to suck it up and finish my lesson plans for tomorrow. I am teaching a lesson in my class that I'm observing. I think it is more frightening to do a guest lesson than it is to have a class of my own! I look forward to student teaching in the fall, but hope that I don't have this same nervous feeling all the time. It is great to teach kids, odd to have someone there while you are doing it. I will try to set the nausea aside and suck it up! I have my handouts made, the overheads are nearly done, I accidentally left some of it on the office computer so I must run to the office. Ick. Cold. Ugh.

I'm excited to teach tomorrow. I'm making up a snow day so I'll be at the high school 2 days vs. one this week. I should fall pretty far behind at work. Such is life, I can't be caught up on everything :-)

The Future M's are rocking along -- losing weight with a sassy attitude to boot! I'm not fond of the M-word, but I like the attitude of taking it back and having fun while trying to lose some weight.
