All's Well That Ends Well. I am excited to report that final grades have posted for my winter class. I was not penalized for the paper being late!!! (The funeral that came 2 weeks after my Mom's did me in -- I handed the paper in a week late after explaining the situation to my professor. I told him to mark it down or not accept it, that I understood but simply couldn't have it done for the due date). As a result of the professor taking the paper, I did really well in this class. Had it not been for the mercy of my professor being understanding about the cause of my lateness I would have been doomed! I did better on the final than expected -- resulting in an A-! I could not be happier!
Put the car in the shop again Friday. Only 500 miles left on the warranty. They took apart the dash to find the noise (sounded like an electrical switch turning on about every 10 seconds). Once the dash was apart the noise disappeared. I told them I wasn't taking the car back until they found the cause. They are covering the rental (they thought for the day!). As far as I'm concerned I don't want it back unless they can show me they fixed something (other than the burned out rear wiper motor, that should cost me). We picked out patterns, a seamstress, and material for the bridesmaid dresses (and flower girls!) for my sister's wedding yesterday. No blood was shed -- thank goodness!!!
I finished my thank you notes!!!! I am proud because I wrote them to the nurses and aids who were with my Mom and I the night she passed. They were angels of mercy and I killed myself writing their notes -- I wanted them to know the specific things they did that were a comfort and got me through such a difficult thing. It took a lot out of me to write these notes, but I'm glad I did it. Those aids need to know that the work they do is important and that they are special for how they do it (from words spoken, to hands held, to rubbing my shoulder as I watched my Mom's spirit leave). I give credit to nurses and aids -- what they do is SO important and special.
I'm excited not to have class this week. I'm excited my husband's soccer team is done for the season. I'm excited that CCD is done for the kids for the year. Now it is just kid school stuff and soccer -- and my weekly weight loss class. What a wonderful thing! I can't wait to sit home tomorrow night and just enjoy not being obligated. I will go for a workout at the gym -- I can't wait, it has been WEEKS and I was going 3x per week. My body will go into shock!
Tonight I'm updating the calendar with all the soccer practices and games. I love May without any classes for me!
Hoping all is well with you!
