I am very happy to only be working a 1/2 day today. I will play hookie in the afternoon and rest so that I'm prepared for dinner tonight at my inlaw's. My mother inlaw will have surgery in less than 2 weeks. It will be risky and I'm not certain of the outcome. She drives me insane and is manipulative, but we still love her and want her to be okay. She is good to my kids and I like her more than my father inlaw who could be compared to the excitement of a slug.

I wonder if my crazy sister inlaws have any idea how serious this is? They tend to block. I hope all turns out well. They are annoying but they are not bad people. It would be nice if 2006 started on a positive note for the family.
