Well, the mother inlaw surgery was not a go today. The anesthetic made her heart race so now she needs to see a cardiologist before anything goes any further for her. This poor woman has suffered so much with this stuff. Hopefully her day improves. This will make her nuts since she had to do the whole clean the colon out thing last night... That is no fun. The surgery is supposed to take 8 hours. Only the good Lord knows when they will be able to schedule it again and if she will be strong enough.
It has been a few hours and Barbara is still not out of recovery. I'm worried, I don't understand how she can be out for 4 hours if they stopped the anesthetic. It seems to me you come back out of it pretty quick once the shut it off. An hour I would understand, 4 hours is beyond me. Having my father inlaw as the source of information is a frustration because he is a poor communicator to begin with. She need to have the pick line removed from her artery (it has been a year) and she needs a feeding tube put in her belly. She also needs a revision on the gastric bypass since she passes all nutrients through too quickly. She has something bleeding somewhere and it needs to be found and addressed or she'll need ANOTHER blood tranfusion (she has had nearly 30 in the past 5 years). Oh, and she has 3 huge herneas that need to be fixed.
What? Me worry?
I'm chewing Tums today. The story is that she never even was put under. Some medicine they gave her when they were prepping her seems to have started a cardiac situation where her beats were just racing. I guess they are giving her medication that has steadied her a bit. She is now in the cardiac intensive care unit and will stay there through the night. We have not idea if she will be strong enough for surgery if this is resolved or if she will be sent back home. She needs the surgery so this is not a good development at all. I'm really worried about her and feel so sorry for her that she has to go through this. Stupid me, I forgot to ask how she is emotionally when my husband gave me the update. I called him back and he forgot too. At least I'm not the only one... So we continue to pray.
