Today was glorious! I went to work with wet hair and was 15 minutes late. Again. I am clearly showing the man that I currently do not place work on top of my priority list. It's summer dammit! Time is slipping away. I'm not going to waste it getting pretty for people who do not appreciate all of my talents and skills. Sure, the family appreciates me (I work in the family business), but those other bastards don't value me. You know, those people who look at you and hate you for doing your job... Those are the people I sometimes wish I could stick it to.

I am happy because my baby sitter took my kids to hang with my best friend and her kids today while I worked. They met up at the camp and had a blast. I went there straight from work and spent the evening with everyone. Good times were had.

This has been a great summer. I am enjoying the heck out of my kids. Nine and ten are WONDERFUL ages.

The added bonus -- the dogs didn't pee in the house while I was gone. We got home later than I would have liked and the pups were troopers! YAY dogs!

My street still looks a lot like the picture above -- except the drain thingees in the black bags have been put in now. That water pipes under the street have been replaced too. We might just be getting the gravel under layer soon. It has only been 5 weeks so I'm not getting my hopes up. My fat ass needs the exercise of walking a block to my car (parked on a nearby side street). My only irritation is really the drama involved in carting groceries. I tend to do mega shops and this is difficult when you have to carry the bags a block to the house.

My other irritation is that I somehow misplaced the cord to download pictures from my camera. I must find it. In the meantime I bought a 1 megabyte disc. I can officially take a zillion pictures now and not run out of space. Now to find that damn cord!
