Well, I just had a good conversation with Hubby. His work is horrible. He has gotten maybe one paycheck a month for the last several months. He is feeling horrible and like a failure when the issue is the economy, not him. I feel horrible for him and his dad because they have worked 20 years making their own business and now it is crumbling just as they've paid off much of the equipment and when they'd actually be making a profit.
Now he is looking at a career change and has started classes (which add even more stress on him). Add a wife who suffers from chronic pain, works full time, is taking 3 classes, 2 great kids, 2 soccer teams, his parents who depend on the family business, no time for exercise, no time to cook decent meals, a house that is a mega mess and what do you get? D e p r e s s i o n.
But here is the good part. Hubby is talking about it. He actually agreed with me that he needs to talk to our family doctor. He told me he is planning to call her and set up an appointment so he can get her advice. He is overwhelmed. He is struggling to think. He is angry. He has every right to these feelings. Now is the time to figure out how to manage them so he can go forward. So we can go forward. Depression runs in both of our families.
Our poor kids!!! Heredity is not kind....
By the way, I'm getting really mad at blogger for not alowing me to post pictures. This is what I get for getting a new camera for my birthday!

Every thing starts with the first step...
and most men don't like to admit they are depressed.
He doesn't know me - but you can tell him that I'm pulling for him
PS. sorry about the business. Maybe just maybe a change will be like a huge promotion. something better is one the way
I'm so sorry your husband is having to go through this. Mine did several years ago, and when he finally admitted he needed some help, it was as if the lights came on. The medication has been the solution and accepting the need for it was a huge step forward. I wish you both the best!
