Sunset in November

I got out of class just in time to see the sunset tonight. What a blessing. I live for a sunset or a sunrise. I saw both of them today. I saw the sunset on the way to the high school before work. I saw the sunset leaving college after work.

There is something in the way that the colors paint the sky... it makes me believe that everything is okay. All is well. Why didn't I see it as clearly when my Mom was here? She always appreciated a sunset. She always appreciated the fall colors and taught me to love them too. I thought I appreciated them. I know now that each day I appreciate them more than I ever did. Loss makes the beauty of the world more poignant? I see the beauty around me and it makes me want to just stop and stare. There is so much to look at. There is so much to see.

I've registered for my classes next semester. I'll be another step closer to teaching when the winter ends... one step closer to seeing the sunrise as I drive to work at a high school. I can't wait!
