Bob Ross.....

Okay, do you remember Bob Ross? He was the white guy with the afro who always painted "happy little trees" and "happy little clouds." I would watch him on his show and think -- "Hey, if my Mom and Dad would just get me the right brushes and paints, I could be a great painter like him!"

I loved that about him, his mellow happy voice and manner encouraged you to believe you could do it! I need Bob Ross to tell me that I'll make it through this semester. I'm so excited to be taking my methods classes for teaching, but I'm so tired! My sleep study (the 2nd one) has been postponed. I am a bit overwhelmed thinking about all that I have to do this week let alone this semester. I need Bob Ross next to me with his mellow encouraging voice telling me that I can do it. At least, that is what I need this week!

My son watched this clip with me and then forced me to let him watch the next one where the painting is finished. Ah, the joy of YouTube! I did a search on my computer tv guide and am going to record mellow Bob -- Wonder Boy digs his painting big time. He was entranced watching how Bob made his happy winter scene. There are some things that transcend time. Apparently, Bob Ross is one of them.

Next weekend Wonder Boy and I have a date for a FULL episode of The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross. Life is good. I will think of the happy trees now.

Pamela -- you are my Bob Ross! You said it in the tiny little voice that I needed as I'm finishing my student teaching application tonight! I think I can, I think I can! Thanks for your vote of confidence!!!
