Today...

Today I got to spend half the day at the high school. I am observing with an AWESOME teacher. She is amazing how she adapts her style of teaching to her different classes. I'm taking lots of notes -- there are so many ideas that pop in my head while I watch her teach. She is also very open to questions. I hope I work with someone like this in the fall when I student teach. I am amazed how easy she makes it look when it comes to integrating all the different learning styles into a lesson. She does a ton of prep work. I love working with the students. I need a refresher on the coursework though -- it has been too long!

I am also happy because my Wednesday night professor does not waste my time. She covers the material and releases us -- novel idea isn't it? I'm not used to professors who can actually stay on topic. How refreshing! How would have thought methods classes would be so interesting? I'm loving these classes. Lots of work, but tons of learning for me (on stuff that I'll be able to put into practice in my own classroom). How cool to actually see the stuff I'm learning practiced successfully in the classroom!

Wonder Boy had a project to complete for school tonight. Hubby worked his butt off on it with him (there was building involved). Once the building was over, Hubby was pretty much over the project -- it is a good thing I got home early. My 4th grader made it to bed just before 11pm. I'll accept my bad mom award now -- better planning would have resulted in more sleep for little man. The problem was that we really have not had time to do this project until now. The last 2 weekends have been booked with parental homework and social obligations (on top of Sunday soccer and church). Maybe he will learn to balance time from all the juggling.... he did see how the work we did a few days ago made the constructing of the posters so much easier.

Super Girl is in that snappy moody pre-teen mode. Will we survive the teen years? She is so rude one moment (yelling no less) and so sweet the next. I'll consider myself a success if I can get her to wear a bra. So far I have outlawed white shirts until a bra is worn. She is opting for tank tops under everything. Ugh. Not much I can say -- bras are not comfortable. If I never get bitten by another underwire it will be too soon! The strap trenches in my shoulders make me positive that I'll be having a reduction when I'm down to goal weight! Who need them?? Why do women get enlargements? Big boobs hurt -- doesn't anyone else admit it?

I've worked so hard with Wonder Boy I've neglected my homework for tomorrow. I'll have to handle it in the morning... so tired tonight!

loved this post Grim.

photo is beautiful.

you make me miss coursework.

i'll share that award because there are plenty of nights because of my schedule (includes night meetings and weekend events) that B-girl doesn't get to bed until very late.

ah the pre-teen years. how i wish they will never come!
