On the way home I took the road less traveled vs. the expressway and got to see beautiful farmland. There is so much beauty all around us. Even in the cold. I'm glad I had these moments today to savor and enjoy. What a nice break from the hectic pace of this crazy semester.... Here is some of what I got to see...
The landscape looked like a painting to me. The clouds caused the sun to dance back and forth all around me. It was hard to tell where the water ended and the snow and ice drifts began. The cold was harsh... but the beauty profound.
The snow hit hard like tiny grains of sand -- and yet the beauty of the day made the wind burn seem a small price to pay.
And this bird somehow made safe passage from one section of water in the harbor to another section of open water. An impossible little battle fought through a tiny channel -- and the battle was won!!On the drive homeward I got to see the sunset in the farmland. How cool! Today was a good day despite the fact my sister inlaw M has been hospitalized. She is pregnant and due at the end of May. Her cervix is thinning, she is being monitored, the doctor wants to figure out what is causing it (i.e. she may be having contractions and not knowing it). So she is hospitalized on bed rest. It may be for a week, a month, or the duration. We don't know.
At least we do know she and the baby are getting good medical care. Please keep them in your prayers -- this hospitalization is a good thing. We are relieved to have them where they can be best helped.. We are hoping for the best and remain optimistic. There is a long way to go.
I'm glad I got to see the water today. Seeing it brings me peace...

WWOOOWWW!!! Those are INCREDIBLE! They don't even look real! Beautiful.
I'll keep your sis-in-law in my prayers...

Well said Grim!
Wow!! Gorgeous pictures! Is that a church? So beautiful, but it definitely looks frigid!!
Thanks for the compliments! The scene was so pretty it didn't look real. I don't think it was a church -- I think it may be a lighthouse of some kind. I was kind of lost.... I'd love to go back to these areas in the summer. That way I'd have the patience to go read the historic market signs.... It was a little too cold this time!
