Good Times at the Lab!

Today was biopsy day! I was not excited so much as relieved. I saw my doctor yesterday and she sent me on for the ultrasound guided biopsy on the breast lump today. It was precautionary due to the fact the pain has still been bad (yes, even after my period). I am struggling, even with a simple seat belt. It doesn't feel right under, it doesn't feel right over. My boob has taken center stage and demanded attention. How embarrassing!

It was interesting to watch the needle biopsy on the ultrasound screen. It didn't hurt as that needle jabbed around and into the cyst. I was happy to see it disappear from the technicians screen. I've read enough to know that if the fluid in the cyst isn't bloody that it is likely not a cancer thing. I don't think it was bloody, but they don't allow me to study this stuff (being that I am the patient). I'm supposed to let the people in the white medical jackets feel like they are in charge. This is harder for me than it should be -- I like to be the master of my own situations.

I was proud that I didn't pester them too much -- it is my nature to be inquisitive. I was less than pleased that they had to choose which cyst to biopsy -- I had two that we found (this being a post period visit we would have hoped for less). I hope this procedure relieves the pain, I'm not a fan of pain since I have had it as my daily companion since 2001. I'm fine with my regular pain level, please don't add any -- thank you!

Here is what was interesting. The ultrasound technician lady recommended Vitamin E to help with breast pain. We shall see, I think I'll give it a try! Wish me luck.

Thanks for all the well wishes on the 2 year anniversary of losing my Mom. Comments are a joy and comfort to me -- I am grateful!

Hope the results are good for you. Thanx for sharing - you made me laugh! Hard to be inc ontrol when 'men in lab coats' are shoving needles in you, huh? heh heh
