Super Girl is fine

Funny that I worried about Super Girl and her not making the select soccer team (due to the killer sore throat and fever that she got the day before, ugh). She is fine as wine. She wants to try other sports and keep playing in the recreation league or CYO. I think I'm more frustrated than her -- but I'm hiding it well by obsessing on my blog vs. in real life. She basically told me it is imore fun to be a big fish in a little pond than to swim with a bunch of big fishes. Okay -- she's eleven, how the heck does she have that kind of insight?

We drove through the dead of night last night to get to Grandpa's home by the lake. We have loved going Up North since my Mom started it as a 4th of July tradition when my babies were young. Now that they are 10 and 11 the tradition lives on without Grandma's earthly presence. We got to sneak up here for the weekend, but the real event is a few weeks away. I love small town parades and cherry pie. We get the best of it here.

Staying in the house my parents renovated makes me feel like my Mom is here with me giving me a great big hug with this warm and loving home she designed. I'm trying to write a children's book for the new grand kids so that they will know their Grandma. I feel so blessed that my kids know her in their memories and when we dome here. They feel like she is with us too.

I'm trying to worry less.... maybe I'll be more mellow when this semester ends... I'm a little burned out.

Off to enjoy a sunset!
