This photo is from a wonderful weekend on the lake with the kids this past summer. We walked for 2 hours down the beach -- just exploring the coastline. We picked up cool rocks and enjoyed each other's company. None of us can skip a stone to save our lives. We tried. Can you believe how calm that water was?

Today was cold and I had to wrap my face with my scarf to go outside. I'm still struggling to recover from pneumonia but feel so much better than I did these last 4 weeks. I can't wait for my lungs to feel normal and for me to have energy again.

The husband has to work tomorrow -- I really wish he didn't. We may make Christmas cookies....
