I missed Linguistics class last week due to a work emergency. This is deadly since I was already lost and confused. I am not happy about how this class is going for me. I somehow got a good grade on the first exam (luck) and now everything is building on that information. I don't have easy recall of the information necessary to progress. I understand it and can apply it -- but need to refer to notes vs. my brain for the information I must apply. I know this is due to the miner stroke that I had in 2002. I can usually accommodate my lack of short term memory with my big picture type skills and excellent note taking. This is not possible in this class so it pretty much sucks the joy out of taking the class for me.

Usually there is something I absolutely LOVE about each class I take. I do not have love for linguistics. I have not told my professor about my learning disability because it is undocumented by my doctor never stopped me before when trying to accomplish something. I accommodate this memory issue in real life without an issue, but short term memorization will never be a strength for me.

Work is sucking -- attitudes and long hours are sucking the life out of me. I can't wait to go on vacation THURSDAY! The hubby is going with the kids and I and it is our first family vacation in 4 years. We can't wait. Tonight I need to do my online class assignments, study for exams, lose 15 pounds, do laundry, pack for the trip, drop off the dogs, and clean the house. Oh, and I'll likely need to stay late to finish work projects. The program I'm using is running slow enough to kill a cow.

The dungeon is so damn cold today! I wonder if anyone would notice if I brought a blanket in and wrapped it around me. How can people work when their fingers are frozen brittle. Damn!!
