Survived the shower, Happy Mother's Day!

I am right that it is odd to be talking about the wedding while attending the baby shower? I am right that it is odd to be looking at bridesmaid dresses with the baby gifts not yet loaded into the car? I feel so old fashioned. The baby is due in May, the wedding is in November. The groom's twins are six and had a great time. I'm happy for them.... all of them. I just with the timing and order of things was a little more old fashioned. I want my daughter to have the best chances in this world. So many marriages end in divorce these days. I want more old style examples for my daughter... more happily ever afters.

I wish my Hubby's sister a wonderful happily ever after. I am glad my tension toward her parents was not evident to her or the guests. I'm glad for her as she leaps into motherhood with an infant and two six year olds.

I hope my daughter is old fashioned and does things in the traditional order. Life throws enough challenges at you.... having the marriage in place prior to the baby is definitely helpful. I'd hate to be getting used to a husband and a baby at the same time! I am a rarity in that I married my high school sweetheart. We have been married 14 years. We are working on the happily ever after :-) We count our blessings despite recent struggles over the job situation. I miss Mom again this mother's day. She would be so happy for the new moms and their first mother's days!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!
