It was strange to see my sister so vulnerable. Baby was sleeping in her stroller since the brother inlaw insisted and didn't want to move the portable crib to the living room (where sis is hanging out as she recuperates). Sis was lying on the couch -- she's had a rough patch with day 3-5 and isn't feeling so hot. It is to be expected, but she looked kinda rough. She is tentative and afraid it seems... She looks at her baby with wonder and awe. She is thrilled, but almost a frightened little baby herself. I saw in her almost as much vulnerability as I saw in her child.
It was strange. I told her how I was going to be my other niece's godmother and she let it slip that she plans me to be Baby's godmother, "Wow, you will be godmother to two nieces so close in age, how strange for you!" she said. I stammered... "What do you mean?" She says, "Come on, you knew it was you!"
This is how she asked me to be her matron of honer. And now she does the same with being a godmother. To me being a godmother is a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE honor. What a strange way to be asked......
Other: Finals are DONE!!!! YIPPEE!! I got an "A" in medieval literature! Still waiting on my other grade. I take two CLEP tests in two weeks --- hopefully I will study enough to ROCK them and not have to take summer classes.... wish me luck! I am so happy to have school slow down a bit! I need to study my subjects for student teaching this fall!

Wow... more congratulations! Aint it funny the way people broach certain subjects sometimes? Something needs to be said, but we just don;t know how to go about it! Your sister just kinda blurted that out for you! Oh dear! She's got a lot on her plate as it is. I hope they all fall into a routined day/night pattern before too long. It's a tough time... everything is such a brand new experience!
Yay that your finals are over and done with for now! Yay! \o/
