Happy Boxing Day!

Back at work in the dungeon, I am grateful that I'm not working retail today! 10 years in retail management makes me ever so grateful to be working a mundane desk job on this the day of returns! May there be many happy returns and may the shoppers be kind to the workers!

The holiday was uneventful here. Wonder Boy exemplified the spirit of the season -- he made gifts for EVERYONE! Our family and extended family on both sides -- what a guy. He took a worn out pair of jeans and made purses for the ladies. He made fuse bead creations at school. He wrote his own comic books. He got things -- thoughtful person appropriate things not junk -- at the Santa's workshop at school. He really thought about the person and matched the gift to them. It was beautiful. My sister (sometimes referred to as my evil sister in the past) almost cried! We are really turning a corner. She noticed his thoughtfulness and said "I kept hoping everyone appreciated his gifts enough! He put so much thought into them I wanted to weep." How is that? WOW! Wonder boy was a wonder! He shopped with me and ran errands nonstop. He wore his elf hat the entire time. I'm SO blessed!!!

Today Hubby is doing volunteer work at the Tae Kwon Do studio. Um, hello? No money off tuition and you are helping with the remodel? When our house is a sewer? Okay. I am proud that I did not complain. I am proud that I was not snarky. I think he got it once I innocently asked if he was getting a break on our monthly fee for all of this work.

My daughter is hitting a really snappy / yelling phase of the tween years. I have tried to point it out nicely and I've tried returning the tone. Neither helps. Ugh. I miss pleasant tones of voice!

It was a peaceful holiday and I'm so grateful. I got what I wanted -- some extra sleep! Hope you did too!!!

yes - and I'm sleeping better and not having as much acid reflux.

Why do kids have to go thru the teenage monster stage. Just lock her up and tell her you'll see her in six years.. giggle.
