Warmth in the Cold

The best thing is when I call home and my kids answer the phone. I love how Wonder Boy and Super Girl are so matter of fact and chipper. I can be having the worst day ever and their lights shine bright into my soul. I hear their voices and my heart sings. They are the greatest gift I've ever been given.

This week (and continuing for 2 more weeks) I have had a ton of travel for work. I am on the road driving long miles. I watch the snow fall and am grateful for the spectacular view of nature I get as I travel. I don't like to be away from home or getting home so late, but I am grateful that I have a job and a steady paycheck. (We are still waiting for the call for Hubby, the friend with the company called and explained that they are very shorthanded this week and have not done any second interviews yet -- we will continue to stare at the phone). My home PC is still on the fritz -- I'm sorry for the lack of comments on anyone's blogs!

I look to the weekend and anticipate the joy of couch snuggling with my family. I can't wait until we bury ourselves under blankets and catch a few movies. I can't wait to play clue and monopoly. The kids will be 11 and 12 soon..... how time does fly! It is amazing that my mom was right -- I love each phase with my kids even more than the last! Let this continue through these teen years!!!

For now, I will soak up every happy moment into my soul and I will be grateful.......
